Taylor Edelle Stuart is a filmmaker, video artist, and theatre maker.
Her work examines the shifting boundaries between the self, the image, and reality. Across film, live performance, and installation, she employs dream logic, fractured narrative, and the uncanny to explore how images shape memory, desire, and subjectivity.
She recently completed You Really Like Me!, her debut narrative short as a writer-director, and previously directed the web series Boy Shorts, created by Molly Brown.
She will be an Artist-in-Residence through BaseCamp at the 2026 Locarno Film Festival and was a Seminar Fellow at the 2026 International Short Film Festival Oberhausen.
Taylor creates live and immersive moving-image works that investigate the relationship between digital media, physical space, and the live body, cultivating both harmony and tension between theatrical and cinematic modes. This work has been presented at MoMA PS1, the Perelman Performing Arts Center, Ars Nova, La MaMa, and La Jolla Playhouse, among others. She co-designed the world premiere of The Outsiders with Tal Yarden and has collaborated on productions at American Ballet Theatre, Lincoln Center Theater, New York Theatre Workshop, and on several Tony Award nominated Broadway Productions (associate designer to David Bengali and Ruey Horng Sun).
Most recently, she was Associate Video Designer to Tal Yarden on the Broadway production of Oedipus, starring Mark Strong and Lesley Manville, adapted and directed by Robert Icke. The production received the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Video and Projection Design before transferring to the Residenztheater in Munich, where she directed the opening film.
